本文详细报道伪虎鲸的外部特征、骨骼、习性和分布。
本文是以1988年和1982年在北部湾捕获的两头雄性标本为依据,体长分别为3.70和4.63米,各重500和700公斤,身体黑色,它们的外形和骨骼的特征在图版Ⅰ-Ⅱ和表1-4中有简要的说明。
北海82323号标本的椎式是C₇+T₁₀+L₁₁+Ca₂₂=50,七个颈椎愈合,鳍肢五指,指式为Ⅰ:1,Ⅱ:6,Ⅲ:5,Ⅳ:2,Ⅴ:1。腰痕骨见图。

Abstract:

The present paper presents a detailed account of the externalfeature, skeleton, habits and distribution of the False killer (Pseudorca crassidens) from the South China Sea.
It is based on two male specimens caught from the Bay of Beibu in 1988 and 1982 separately. The body lengths are 3.70-4.63m, and the body weights are about 500-700 kg. The body color is black. The characteristics of external feature and skeleton are indicated in plates Ⅰ-Ⅱ,and the measurements given in tables 1-4.
The vertebral formula of the specimen BH82323 is C₇+T₁₀+L₁₁+Ca₂₂=50.
The first seven cervical vertebrae are fused together. Flippers have five fingers, and the phalangeal formula is Ⅰ:1, Ⅱ:6, Ⅲ:5, Ⅳ:2, Ⅴ:1. There are two traces of hind-leg bones remained.
